Australian Defence Force Academy cadets being forced to scrap uniforms for 'Wear it Purple Day'.
Cadets in uniform will be required to explain why they chose to disobey a direct Commanding Officer command to wear purple in support of the sexuality of LGBTQAI+ people on "Wear it Purple Day"
Sky News host Amanda Stoker says questions of sexuality and gender aren’t relevant to the work of the ADF, following the ABC’s reports cadets were given a directive to wear purple civilian clothing for Wear it Purple Day. "No one should be forced to either celebrate or condemn it, because this stuff simply isn't relevant to the work they do," she said. “And as for the ADF values, which are … service, courage, respect, integrity and excellence, well, forcing one group of people to affirm the sexuality and gender of another isn't respect. It's coercion - and coercion is wrong."
What’s the next development for Australia and our military forces, purple uniforms and adoption of the rainbow flag? Presumably the proponents of “The Voice” will demand that the aboriginal flag take precedence along with traditional aboriginal dress.
